Yummy....rice cereal!

Well we got the okay from the Doctor to start her some solids so we tried! She was not quite sure about the texture and still isn't 5 days later. I think more is coming out then going in. It's so funny to see her expressions. She actually shivers and then gags at times. Poor baby, I wouldn't want to eat that either. Tom thinks I should add some cinnamon to it.......ya right!

Everything goes in the mouth these days!

This past weekend we went down south to visit my sister. Auntie Colleen, Uncle Michael and Ryan got to watch Kara all day Saturday while Tom and I went to the Rose Bowl to watch the UCLA vs Fresno St game. Considering it was 95 degrees in Pasadena and middle of the afternoon, I would say I've had better days. It was way too hot, we ended up going to the Cheesecake Factory downtown and watching the rest of the game there. It worked for me!

Kara loves her cousin Ryan!

4 months old

Well Kara just turned 4 months old, again we can't believe how fast time goes by. We just had her dr. appt today and she's 16 lbs and 4 oz and 25 3/4 inches long. So she is growing VERY good and we are so thankful for that! She just started rolling over the past few days and really has the hang of it. That's all she does now when I lay her down. It's so fun to watch but eventually she gets tired and then mad when she is stuck on her tummy! We've also discovered Kara is quite the social bug, she smiles at everyone! I thought at first she was always scared at men but she now gives them the biggest smile ever. Tom better watch out cause we may have a little flirt on her our hands!

Last weekend we went to Santa Barbara for my cousin Bonnie's wedding. It was a beautiful wedding overlooking the ocean. That was Kara's first wedding and probably her last for a while! I can't complain she did really well considering the noise. We were really thankful when we were heading back to Tulare that she slept the entire way, she woke up when we parked the car in the garage! So we got to drive straight through. Kara has not been to fond of her carseat so we were really relieved that she did so well on this trip.

Mommy's Back to Work!

Well I started work again. It was so hard in the beginning but each day seems to get a little easier. I really can't complain, it's only 2 days a week. A friend of mine, Stacy, is watching Kara while I'm at work and it seems to being going well. She has a little boy that Kara I'm sure is very entertained by. I sure do miss her while I'm gone but at least I know she's in good hands! Kara has become quite entertaining lately. She's making lots of new sounds and they get louder if you are not paying attention to her. I think she'll be quite the little talker. I think she'll get that from her Dad! The not so entertaining part lately is Kara thinks she should poop everytime she gets in the car. Not just a small poop but I mean an explosive poop going everywhere. It never fails! I was prepared this morning going to church, I brought an extra dress just in case. Sure enough, poop everywhere. So I walked into church about 10 minutes late only for her to last about 10 minutes in church. We make ourselves very comfortable in the "cry room" lately!

The Bumbo!!

So we got a new thing for Kara called a Bumbo. It's the perfect little seat for her to sit in! Now she can sit on the counter while I'm working in the kitchen and sit ON the dinner table while we are eating! It's so great and she loves it. She always wants to sit up and see whats going on so this is perfect for her. Kara's been so much fun lately, she is playing and grabbing at toys and she just figured out she can roll on her side now and I think pretty quick she'll actually roll over, she's trying! Tomorrow unfortunately I start work, I'm so sad that I will be leaving Kara. I'm going back 2 days a week but 12 hour shifts. So we'll see if I can tough it out and do it. Don't be surprised if I go to one day a week!
