Spring Days

Well spring is here and I am loving it!  We have been spending many afternoons outside and trying to get some sun.  We made a quick trip up north last week and enjoyed some time with Grandma and Beppe.  Kara got to explore my Mom's backyard which is almost full of blooming flowers.  These tulips kind of got blown over by the wind but non the less, they were still pretty!

Bruin and Kara can finally play together.  Bruin hasn't jumped on her and is pretty careful around her.  We have to watch Kara because as you can see she wants to grab him and crawl on him.  It keeps her very entertained though and gives Mommy a break!
Kara's favorite thing to do is to dance.  Anytime music come on she's so quick to start clapping and dance.  Well her favorite song is the theme song to the Backyardigans.  It's such a cute cartoon and anytime she's fussy we just put that song on and her mood switches quickly.  Thank goodness for TiVo!  This video makes me laugh because I think she is trying to clap her feet!

10 months

Here are some cute pictures I was able to get of Kara.  I couldn't resist doing at least one tutu picture....Tom wasn't too thrilled but as long as she was wearing a shirt it would be okay then.  Kara has her arms up in these pictures because she was actually dancing since we were singing a song to get her to smile.  Kara got her first top tooth last week and we are seeing signs of 3 more to come.  So Kara decided she hates baby food now and only really eats food that she can pick up herself.  Fine by me!  Now I just have to be creative in coming up with meals for her.  We had a follow up appointment yesterday with her Doctor and the ear infection is STILL there.  I was so disappointed.  So we are back on antibiotics and the Dr. said if it's not cleared up after this, then she has to get a 3 day round of shots and if it's still not cleared up then we will consider tubes.  I'm all for tubes at this point, I would rather be done with the antibiotics.  So we'll see what happens, in the meantime I really don't think her ears are bugging her so I'm very thankful for that!

Fun at the Beach

Last week Kara and I went down south to visit my sister while Tom was gone in Idaho.  We spent 3 days there and had a great time.  We were able to go to Seal Beach for a while but it was a little on the cool side that afternoon.  While Ryan was busy building a sand castle, Kara was very unsure of the sand.  She never moved her hands and just kept them up the whole time.   I was just thankful she wasn't eating the sand, I'm sure by this summer she will be!

Last Weekend

We made a trip up North last weekend to spend some time with family.  We had a really nice time and we got to see lots of beautiful almond blossoms.  I never appreciated them until the last few years!  Kara got to go on her first ride with Pake on the mule.  She was full of smiles!  Kara has had a little bit of a yucky week again, fighting a bad cough and we are seeing 2 teeth trying to come through.  So naps are not her thing making her extremely tired and fussy!  We are hoping the ear infection is better and that those teeth just come through this weekend.  I guess it's just that time of year for the colds and there isn't much we can do about it.  She is starting to be herself again today so Mommy is happy about that!

We visited Shelly and the kids while the boys all went to a UCLA game.  I think Kara was a little overwhelmed with all of the action there!  We managed to get them all to sit nicely for a picture in their PJ's.

Kara fell asleep resting her head on the bumper.....such a sweetie!
