One Week Later

Well it's been just over a week since Kara was born and we are loving every minute with her. She already seems like she has changed so much. We had a home health nurse come over yesterday to check on Kara and myself and she is well past her birth weight. She left the hospital last week weighing 7 lbs and 14 oz and yesterday she weighed 8 lbs and 13 oz! The nurse was shocked! She already doesn't even look like a newborn, she looks like she is about 2-3 weeks old. We think maybe she was well overdue! She spends quite a bit of the day awake which is so fun and the last few nights she's been great only waking up to feed 2 or 3 times during the night and falling right back asleep. So far she seems like a pretty easy baby! I'm adding just a few pics we took over the week and then some that my friend had taken the morning after she was born. I thought they were so cute.

8 lbs, 8 oz, 20 inches

We just got back from the hospital around noon today and I knew I better add some new pictures as soon as possible. Plus we are so excited to show off our precious little daughter. We are doing really well and it feels so good to get out of that small hospital room. Kara is doing great, she is a very content little baby and we love having her around. We can't imagine life without her now. She is so alert at times and loves to just look around with those big blue eyes.
As for me I'm feeling pretty good and with the help of Tom and my Mom I think I should have it pretty easy the next few days. I just have to learn to take things a little big slower. Enjoy the pictures and I'm sure from here on I'll be updating them quite often.

No Baby Yet!

Well we are still anxiously waiting for something to happen. I had my Dr. appt yesterday and nothing is really going on so we just have to wait and see. The Dr. suggested I get induced tomorrow, my due date, and with some good advice from some people we decided to just wait it out a little bit. It sounds like if I don't have it by Monday he will probably schedule an induction early next week. I guess he feels the baby doesn't need to be in there any longer than it has to. I on the other hand want to see if I can naturally go into labor.

So we have a hot week ahead of us out here in Tulare so this should be fun, I'm talking like 100 degree weather! Otherwise I still feel pretty good and am trying to stay active and keep my mind busy. Tom is doing his best in trying to keep me entertained cause the days get kind of long sometimes. We hope the next post will an announcement and please keep us in your prayers that everything will go well and that a healthy baby will arrive soon.
