9 Month Appointment

So Kara had her 9 month appointment yesterday and she is growing great.  She is 21 pounds and 28 1/2 inches.  The bummer was that Kara has been very fussy the last few days, especially at night, and I just figured she was teething.  The Doctor said she has a bad double ear infection.  This was really disappointing since we just finished the last antibiotic last week and now the infection went to both ears and got worse.  So she's back on a different antibiotic and hopefully this will get rid of it.  Since this is her 3rd ear infection in 2 months the Dr wants her off the bottle and suggested getting her used to an actual cup...not a sippy cup!  Ya right!!  She actually likes sippy cups so that shouldn't be a problem but there is no way I would let her drink out of cup, I don't even know how that would be possible at this point!

9 months old

Kara is now 9 months old and is getting busier and busier every day!  She has a Dr. appt this week so we are anxious to see how much she has grown. We had a pretty quiet week and I am thoroughly enjoying working only one day a week!  I was able to do some yard work this week in some nice 60 degree weather and Kara had a great time hanging out in the pack-n-play outside watching me.  Bruin kept her very entertained!

She decided it's funner to watch TV this close up, that way she can touch the bright things moving!

Twins?

This weekend we went down to Chino and stayed at Steve and Adri's and we were able to celebrate Mya's 1st Birthday.  We had quite the traumatic drive drive down, it took almost 6 hours!!  It snowed the whole way through the Grapevine but that wasn't the problem.  The problem was people in Southern CA don't know how to drive in the rain!  It took almost 3 hours from Magic Mt to Chino all because traffic was so bad.  Needless to say, Kara did ok for 3 hours but the next 3 were horrible!  Thankfully we made it home today in 3 hours so we were quite relieved.   We had a great time though and it's so fun to see Mya and Kara play with each other.  This picture is so funny, we couldn't believe how much they look alike...given they do have the same PJs on!  They are two cute babies, that's for sure!

The Tulare Farm Show

We had such a great time at the Farm Show yesterday!  My parents, my sister Colleen, and my nephew Ryan all drove to Tulare to spend the day at the Farm Show and we had such a special day.  Nobody had as much fun as Ryan, all those big tractors were pretty fun to sit on.  Even Kara got to sit on one and she couldn't stop smiling!  Kara did so well the whole time and finally at the end she fell asleep in the stroller and she was exhausted.....I think she is still recovering today.
Poor Kara, what fun is it sitting in a stoller all the way down there?

What keeps Kara entertained?

What does keep Kara entertained?!  Not much apparently! Who needs toys when she would rather be playing with a box, tupperware, toilet paper, or who knows what?  Oh-well, it's cheap at least.  The car that she is sitting on was fun for about 15 minutes until she figured out how to gracefully fall off of it in a matter of 2 seconds.  Now it doesn't stand a chance!  Kara has been very busy pulling herself up to everything now and loves to just stand next to the coffee table.  It's fun to watch and thankfully she hasn't fallen too bad yet!
Starting this week I have officially moved down to working one day a week.  It was a decision that I struggled with because I do love working in the ER but I love my daughter so much more.  It never got easier leaving her for 12 hours straight even though I completely trusted where she was at...thanks Stacy!  I just figure these are the days you can never get back and I would rather just be home with her while I still have the option to.  So I've had a whole week off and I decided to tackle a huge project.  I started Kara's scrapbook and I am loving every minute of it!  Obviously I'm not getting too much done with her pulling at my pant leg all day but slowly I will catch up!  I just feel bad for my next kids because I don't think they will get near as good as a book as she will.  Oh-well, that's why everyone always resents the oldest child!

Kara loved to crawl in and out of this box when she got in she would start clapping like that was the coolest thing ever.

Kara also discovered she could reach her mobile above her crib.  Well that didn't last because right after I took this picture I heard a huge bang and a screaming cry.  I'm guessing she fell down with the mobile as it was then in her crib and no longer dangling above her!
She's graduated from the headbands!  She actually has enough hair to put a clippie in.... yea!
